Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

How We Met

First comes tacos...then comes love.

On a Friday evening in March of 2016, two hungry souls embarked on a mission to find Gainesville's best tacos -- Cilantro Tacos -- which happened to have its food truck set up at the Florida baseball game that night thanks to marketing genius Michael Ward. As Daniel entered the stadium, he ran into Michael's wife Kelley, who also happened to be heading for tacos. Kelley was searching for her friend Camille, who was wandering around campus lost due to a lack of sleep from working on the vascular night shift all week. Daniel waited with Kelley until Camille arrived and they all went for tacos and to watch the baseball game for a while. Daniel and Camille chatted and enjoyed the evening before departing for the night -- without having exchanged numbers for future contact. In the following weeks, Daniel pestered Michael for more information on Camille but nothing ever came about. It wasn't until late summer that Camille and Daniel reconnected. As Camille anxiously awaited Daniel to ask her on a date, he was looking for the perfect opportunity to make a great first impression. Daniel asked Camille one day what type of music she liked, hopeful that he had found a plan. She seemed to have similar music tastes and accepted Daniel's invitation to drive to St. Augustine to see the Lone Bellow at the amphitheater. Despite her friends' warnings that an out-of-town first date may not be the best idea, the two had a wonderful time and it sparked a connection. Over the next few months there would be more concerts, (lots) more tacos, a hurricane, canoe trips down the Sante Fe River, Camille's first NFL football game (if you count the Jaguars) and road trips to Atlanta and Daytona.

The Proposal

09.09.2017

Fast forward to September 2017 as Camille and Daniel braced for Hurricane Irma. After preparing the house for the impending storm, they went for a walk around Daniel's neighborhood and reminisced about their first date. Camille vividly remembered what Daniel was wearing when he showed up on her doorstep prior to their eight-hour first date. The thought sparked an idea for Daniel, who had been looking for a special moment to take the next step. That afternoon, as Camille rested on the sofa, Daniel walked out wearing the exact outfit from their first date and wasted no time. He got down on one knee, presented his best friend with a ring and asked if she would spend the rest of her life with him. She said yes.
