Christine and Ruby first met back in the day, working at a job that was just okay. They were both working at Nordstrom Headquarters in Seattle, Washington (shoutout to that corporate life!). Little did they know—they were both temps, placed through the same agency, and somehow started and ended their time there at the exact same time (2013–2016). Coincidence? Maybe. Were the stars aligning? Absolutely. Do they remember their first interaction? Nope. But according to Ruby, he was smitten with Christine from the moment he saw her. The only problem? He thought she was married. (Spoiler: she wasn’t.) Fast forward to Christine’s last day at Nordstrom. Ruby finally mustered up the courage to ask for her number at a rooftop work event (classic Seattle vibes). His first text to her read: “Coke to my birthday.” Not “Come to my birthday?” Nope—“Coke.” Blame autocorrect. (And ESL. Ruby insists that’s part of the story.) Christine wasn’t exactly wowed... and didn’t go to the party. Maybe if she had, this would’ve been a totally different story. But the universe had other plans. Jump ahead six years. It’s 2022, and Ruby is now living in Los Angeles. Christine’s still up in Seattle, shaping young minds and fighting the good teacher fight. One day, Christine posted an Instagram story complaining about the new science curriculum at school (teachers, you feel us?). Ruby slid into her DMs with a very passionate take on district funding and tax dollars—because nothing says romance like educational policy. Turns out, they were both teaching at the time, so... common ground! Christine was definitely intrigued. They started casually chatting here and there until February 2023, when Ruby finally dropped his number. Surprise: they still had each other’s numbers from back in the day. Ruby FaceTimed Christine out of nowhere (bold move), and that turned into hours of calls—and three magical first dates back in Seattle in March 2023. That’s when we both knew: this was it. After a year of long-distance love, Ruby packed up and moved back to Seattle in July 2024. They didn’t want to wait any longer, so they made it official with a courthouse wedding on November 27, 2024. We are beyond excited to finally celebrate with our favorite people—you! Thanks for being part of this beautiful journey with us. =)
