In 2014, Kevin and LaQuita connected on Facebook as mutual friends of LaQuita's sister, Vanessa. But, it wasn't until 2017 that Kevin began to notice LaQuita's sassy responses. He observed her for some time and then requested to connect with her on Instagram, which she did not readily accept. But, once she did it was a simple picture that LaQuita shared which peaked his interest - a sweet and salty mix of Wendy's fries and a frosty! Soon after, Kevin sent a DM (direct message) to LaQuita about the unusual concoction and asked if he could have her number. After literally sleeping on the idea, she decided to oblige. They hit it off right away and the rest, as they say, was history...

Kevin and LaQuita spoke on the phone day and night for two weeks before ever meeting in person. LaQuita lives in Arizona and Kevin in Michigan. The vibe over the phone was dynamic. But, would it be the same in person? After two weeks, Kevin flew to Arizona to find out. When they finally saw each other, there were fireworks...

What do you do when you're 2000 miles away, having a custom ring designed and encounter shipment issues? You improvise with the assistance of modern technology. IMO, a video calling app, was just the tool needed. Rather than arrive while Kevin was visiting LaQuita in Arizona, the ring arrived ten days later. Once the package arrived, LaQuita followed the instruction on the package to call Kevin before opening. LaQuita's Mom and sister Vanessa were privy to the plan and called via IMO as well. Kevin pulled over at the nearest location which so happened to be a public library. Right there on bended knee (with curious passersby) he expressed all the things he loved about LaQuita and then asked if she would be his wife. YESSSSSSS! 😁😍💍
