We're Getting Married!

We were introduced by our good friend, Hovig Melkonian for the first time in 2017. He told Erin up front that he thought she'd hit it off with Matt and had zero chill about it. Matt had an entirely different experience, and Hov told him absolutely nothing about Erin. Every time Hov came to Houston, he'd bring Erin out to dinner and drinks with him and Matt. We got along famously, but the timing just wasn't right and neither of us made a move on the other. It took a few years (okay, almost six), but on one of those infamous Hov visits, Matt finally asked Erin for her number and the rest is history!

Before going to meet our good friends Liz and Neal Akhave at Houston's Rodeo BBQ Cookoff, Matt mysteriously disappeared while Erin was trying to give medicine to the very sick cat we were fostering. When Erin was finished with the cat and Matt had reappeared, Erin was ready to go and had opened the front door before Matt asked her to wait. Erin thought he was going to apologize for disappearing while she needed help with the cat, but instead he said a bunch of really sweet things to her about their relationship. Erin had no idea why he was saying all the sweet things he was saying and still didn't understand what was happening when he got down on one knee; she thought he was going to tie his shoe! She didn't get it until he pulled out a ring (which was the cause for the earlier disappearing) and asked her to marry him. Her first response was, "What the hell," because she was so surprised, but her final answer was a definite yes!
