Our wonderful couple met through the social media platform Clubhouse, with a little extra nudge from cupid in the form of Prosper’s brother, Anthony. Chiamaka joined at the start of 2021 and looked up Igbo communities, where she had many interesting conversations. Prosper was invited to the app by Anthony but never really took to it. However, Anthony kept saying to Prosper, there is a lady that I would like you to talk to, she would be an ideal match for you. Prosper put it off severally but his brother was unrelenting and persisted in asking after her. Prosper caved eventually, looked up her Clubhouse profile and then checked her out on Instagram. He was particularly fascinated by the words on her bio- Feminist, Pharmacist and Enjoyment. What an interesting combo he thought, so he got curious and slid into the DM! They started chatting and Prosper couldn't help but notice how lady-like, kind and intelligent she was. After a few weeks, they were to meet up, but Chiamaka canceled this first meeting through a combination of tiredness and nerves. Prosper, ever the gentleman, said there's no rush at all, take your time! Eventually, they met up in St. Stephen’s green park, went for coffee, had lunch and some ice-cream, before walking all the way to the Spencer docks, where they shared a bottle of Prosecco. They just didn't realize they had been talking for more than 8 hours! Prosper said that he felt that he always knew her and could be vulnerable with her. When Chiamaka got home later that night, she texted her best friend and said “I think I found my husband”.
In order to marry Chiamaka, Prosper had to seek permission first from her parents in Nigeria and made all the necessary arrangements over the phone. His family went to meet her parents and relatives to formally "knock on the door". It was a very memorable day, the ambience was filled with lots of love and laughter and there was good food and drinks for everyone! Permission was granted! Prosper put a lot of thought into the engagement. Chiamaka had a day off and he asked her what she would like to do, and she said it would be great to go to Bray beach. Prosper booked a taxi but Chiamaka complained that it would be expensive as it was going to be long ride. However, the taxi driver was in on the plan. When they got to Bray beach, there was a table set with wine, chocolates, balloons and flowers. Chiamaka didn’t notice this straight away as her attention was captivated by a blown-up dancing dinosaur! When she turned to him to point this out, she saw him down on one knee and he proposed! It gets even better! Unknown to Chiamaka and with the help of her adopted sister Emerencia, Prosper had picked a dinner dress and packed a whole bag from her wardrobe the day before and whisked her away to Powerscourt Hotels to continue their lovely engagement celebrations!
