Some would say it started in an Elevator, others would say it started with a forward FaceTime from Chris… We initially met In the elevator heading to work, Alexia had the most intense eye contact Chris had ever seen. So much so that when we got to the floor, Chris had to go the opposite way because he was so intimidated by her deep stare…but he never forgot that interaction. Alexia knew his name of course, how could she not….He was known to be a great salesman with a little bit of an ego and she wanted him to know her. When he would visit the Austin office, she would make up questions that she already knew the answers to, just to talk to him. For 2 years, Chris lived in another city and their interactions were few and far between, but In March of 2021, Chris made the move back to Austin. He had just gotten back and was thinking of any excuse he could to see Alexia, so his initial offer to hang out was for her to come over and help him build his desk. This did not work. A few weeks later, on April 20th, 2021, we had our first date. Chris let Alexia know that he booked an 8:30 pm dinner to which Alexia said please cancel, it was her bedtime and this wasn’t dinner in New York. So he booked another reservation at 6:30 for a nice Italian restaurant, but when he showed up in a button-up to pick her up, she walked out of the door in shorts and a t-shirt asking for pizza and beer. We played rock paper scissors for whose favorite pizza place we would go to. Alexia won, and we went to Pinthouse Pizza where Chris first found out about Alexia’s true love…pizza. We saw each other 7 days straight after that night…yes, Alexia heard from Cisco who she was living with at the time that she needed to take a break from him, but that didn't stop her. From there, there was no separating us. After a month of dating, Alexia suggested the two take a trip to Las Vegas. You learn a lot about someone when you are traveling and Vegas is one of her favorite cities. Even though she was making excuses in the mornings to go get coffee, when she was actually pooping in the lobby, she thought “WOW” ….this man is going to make my life so much happier. Whether it was a weekend getaway to Vegas or a birthday celebration in Maui, The ability to travel together has formed an unbreakable bond and we cannot wait to see where we go next. (Hence the destination wedding) We became officially boyfriend & girlfriend in the middle of a street dance party in Philly. (Thanks Kristy and Conor) We decided to do Whole30 (Chris’s idea) and boy did we learn a lot….Lex is no fun when she can't eat sugar and Chris can get shredded in a week. Chris pushed Alexia to start reading (thanks babe- lex)…she had only ever read 1 book before this (OJ Simpson, If I did It). This was the month when we found out we loved cooking together and were really good at being each other's 80% when the other could only be at 20%. In May of 2022, we moved in together with their fluffy baby, Bella. Each room would come to represent us both, each decision was made easily in agreement, and wow did we get lucky loving the chores the other hates. Early into their relationship, Chris knew that Alexia was the one and with a little help from Emma on ring design (in the form of a 14-page PowerPoint), Chris planned the surprise of a lifetime. He proposed to Alexia on October 14th with a surprise celebration to include their family and friends. Just a few weeks later, we jumped on a plane to Europe for 10 days and were able to settle into engagement and make decisions around future life plans. We decided we wanted to start building a family and buying a home soon, so we started planning a wedding quickly and wanted to get married at a beach in Cabo in June 2023. Thank you for joining what is just the beginning of a love that will last multiple lifetimes.
