We met as recent graduates while working as servers at Buffalo Wild Wings in Newnan, Georgia. Brandon was working towards becoming an Air Traffic Controller, and Sydney a Cardiac Sonographer. What started as a side job to make some extra money, turned into a place where Sydney and Brandon got to know each-other as great friends. As all who know us (and especially Brandon), our shyness kept us friends for over a year, until Sydney and her family relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was only then that Brandon decided to ask Sydney if she would like to go out for the night. He drove up, and they spent the weekend together. As time went on, the dates became more frequent, and the time spent with each-other ever growing. For years, they made the long distance relationship work with no problem. It goes to show that no matter what, love always finds a way.
Before Brandon relocated to Oklahoma for the Air Traffic Control Academy, he knew he wanted to propose to me. The weekend before he left, he planned for us to spend the day together in downtown Chattanooga. We would take a nice boat ride before meeting up with my family later that evening for dinner. As we strolled across the Walnut Street bridge we ended up at the Hunter Museum of American Art Overlook. Brandon got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (I said YES!) and everyone on the bridge began cheering! Brandon pointed to our families that were watching from the bridge. It was one of the HAPPIEST days of our lives!
