Things To Do

We're so excited to share Lexington with you, from our perspective! Below, we've included activities that nod towards each of our specific interests and what draws us to Lexington - horses and bourbon! We hope that you'll make a trip of this, whether just a weekend getaway or even longer!
Woodford Reserve Distillery

Woodford Reserve Distillery

7785 McCracken Pike, Versailles, KY 40383

Visit Woodford Reserve, AJ's favorite bourbon! Take a tour of the beautiful grounds, learning the ins and outs of how they make their bourbon, do a tasting, or just hang out on the patio or lounge inside the gift shop, which also has a bar!

Keeneland Association Inc

Keeneland Association Inc

4201 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY 40510

Visit the beautiful grounds of Keeneland, a full operation horse racing association and home to the world's largest and most prominent Thoroughbred auction house. These grounds are one of the locations where we took our engagement photos, and Keeneland's Spring Meet is one of our traditions when visiting Lexington each year. The grounds are open to the public daily, or you can schedule a guided tour of the grounds!

Kentucky Horse Park

Kentucky Horse Park

Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm, international equestrian competition venue, and an educational theme park opened in 1978. Open Wednesday-Mondays, enjoy a tour or various shows that the park provides.

University of Kentucky Arboretum

University of Kentucky Arboretum

500 Alumni Drive, Lexington, KY 40503

Lexington is home to the University of Kentucky. While school and sports may be out for the summer, the UK Arboretum is a 100-acre public garden located on the campus showcasing Kentucky landscapes and serving as a resource center for environmental and horticultural education, research and conservation.

Kentucky Bourbon Trail

Kentucky Bourbon Trail

If you're really into bourbon like AJ, we'd recommend any of the distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. There are multiple around Lexington and Frankfort that we'd recommend, including Woodford Reserve, Maker's Mark, Jim Bean, and Buffalo Trace.
