As wild as it may seem, our meet-cute wasn’t anything extraordinary. Two strangers swiped right on each other, and the new Batman movie had just been released. A boy who spent most of his time indulging in his hobbies, playing video games, and taking care of his dog, met a girl who rarely slept—a free spirit who partied until the sun came up. They say opposites attract, but we believe opposites balance each other out. After Kyler drove 40 minutes to see a movie with me (which I fell asleep halfway through), we ended up sitting in his car until 3 a.m., talking about the things we loved. At the ripe hour of 3:00 a.m., Kyler kicked me out of his car in the early morning rain, and we never saw each other again. Just kidding… Kyler mentioned he had work later that morning, and though I could tell he didn’t want to say goodbye, life required us to part ways. So, I did what any woman would do—I asked, “Well, are you going to kiss me?” Time went by, and I made more and more trips to Kyler’s home. I met Bozer, who stole my heart the moment he happily cried at the door the first time I came over. We began decorating Kyler’s house, making countless trips to Hobby Lobby and Michael’s, and even starting a Christmas village. After many stay-at-home movie dates, chocolate milk dances, and puppy playtimes, Kyler finally asked me to move in. By that point, most of my stuff was already there—so why not? From then on, it became our home, our life, and a space for creating endless memories. Over the years, Kyler and I taught each other many things. I taught Kyler that life is more than just four walls, and in return, he taught me to stay out of the kitchen…and away from the grill…and the smoker. You get the idea. We’ve grown together, adopted each other’s quirks and humor, and even learned to enjoy silence comfortably in the same room. This is our story—the start of forever.
