New Date!

Love is patient.......and so are we

COVID restrictions are slowly lightening up in VA, so we are excited to announce that the new date for our wedding celebration is August 30th, 2020! We're super excited to celebrate our marriage with a public ceremony, vow exchange and reception with all of our friends and family!

IMPORTANT WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT

The governor of Virginia recently issued an executive order banning the gathering of more than 10 people until June 10th 2020. So, we are postponing our wedding celebration until sometime in the fall after all of this has died down. That way, we're following the law, and keeping everyone safe and unexposed. We are still planning to get married on May 31st. Lord willing, we will have a tiny ceremony (less than 10 people!) in a private location. After the wedding, we will be living and working in Lynchburg. A practical way to support us in our new marriage is by visiting our registry page and sending a gift using our wedding registry. This would bless us immensely as we move into our new home and start our new life together! Once we settle on a new date for the celebration, we will send a new announcement and invitations with the new information.

Our Story

The adventure began...

In December 2018, Jonathan and Hannah were both juniors at Liberty University. Jonathan went home to Tunisia for Christmas break, and Hannah went to Tunisia to visit her college friend Elyssa (who grew up in Tunisia with Jonathan!), who had moved to do a year-long internship. Hannah's first Sunday in the country she went to the English speaking church with Elyssa, where Jonathan's dad happened to be guest preaching. After church, Jonathan came over to say hi to Elyssa, and introduced himself to Hannah. They realized they both went to Liberty, and both were enrolled in the School of Communication, and somehow, they'd never met. That night, Hannah prayed she'd see Jonathan again while she was in Tunisia. The next time they ran into each other was Hannah's last night in Tunis - New Years Eve. They ended up at the same party, and had a 45 minute conversation about...everything! After the party, Jonathan ended up in the same car that was dropping Hannah off at the airport, and asked for her number right as they arrived. When Hannah landed at IAD, she got a text from Jonathan, and that conversation never died. They texted over the 9 hour time difference between Tunis and Hannah's home in Oregon for the next two weeks, until they went back to school. Their first week back at Liberty, they hung out every day as "just friends". After one week of that, Hannah confronted Jonathan and asked him what was going on, because she was "getting mixed signals". ...awkward silence... Jonathan told Hannah he liked her, and she told him she liked him too - then they sprinted to their dorms to make it back before curfew. Two days later They went on their first official date at My Dog Duke's, and Dublin Coffee Company in Downtown Lynchburg, and made their relationship official. 8 months later, at Bear Lake, in Rocky Mountain National Park, Jonathan pulled off the biggest surprise ever, and asked Hannah to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
