Question

Is Cartagena safe?

Answer

Yes!! The seaside city of Cartagena is one of the safest places in the entire country, as well as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Colombia. Crime against tourists is pretty uncommon in Cartagena, and you can stay safe in the city as long as you use common sense and exercise normal precautions!

Question

What is the currency?

Answer

The Colombian Peso is the official currency. Credit Cards are widely accepted and used in the city but we recommend you take out cash for taxis and tips. You can exchange in America at your local bank or we recommend getting cash at Bancolombia ATM machines once you arrive. While still high, the fees are significantly less than those at the airport and most exchange houses in the walled city.

Question

What should I pack?

Question

How will transportation work for the events?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place within Cartagena’s historic Walled City, and the reception will be held in the vibrant neighborhood of Getsemaní. This part of the city is very walkable, and all events will be just a short car ride from the recommended hotels. It’s easy to catch a cab, and Uber is also available. The couple will provide transportation from the GHL Collection Armería Real Hotel on the day of the wedding (Saturday, February 14th) to the ceremony location (Baluarte de Santiago Apóstol), and from there to the cocktail and reception venue (Casa Santos de Piedra) once the ceremony concludes. ______________________________________________________________________________ Nuestra ceremonia se llevará a cabo dentro de la histórica Ciudad Amurallada de Cartagena, y la recepción será en el vibrante barrio de Getsemaní.
