Our Story
Andrew grew up all over! An Air Force brat born in Texas, he's also lived in Idaho, Alaska, where he learned to love hockey, & South Korea, where he found Jesus during a high school lock-in event. He moved to Seattle to go to study electrical engineering at Seattle Pacific University. Deciding he wanted to be a part of his family tradition of military service like Dad & Grandpa Cliff, Andrew joined the Army National Guard. After a year of training in Oklahoma, he moved back to WA where he waited for Amanda to show up!
Amanda is from Whittier, California. She put her faith in Jesus as a little girl. Over the years that faith has deepened & weathered some tough storms. She studied political science & history at Biola University, then moved to Lancaster, PA to work for HOPE International. Eventually work took her to Rwanda (the goal all along) where she lived her best camping hippie life for 3.5 years before moving to Seattle to get her masters' degree and find Andrew!
