From First Glances to Hello’s

08.2023

We walked into the gym that day expecting nothing more than a simple workout with friends, unaware of how quietly and swiftly everything was about to shift. A few lingering glances became a moment where the world seemed to blur around us, the noise falling away as if time itself softened. The energy between us was magnetic; a pull that felt both gentle and undeniable. And when we finally shared our first ‘hello’ and met each other’s eyes up close, it was as though the moment paused just long enough to let something begin. We didn’t know it then, but that spark would unfold into a love that would lead us here, to our forever.

The Last First Date

08.16.2023

We stepped out of our cars and were instantly struck- by each other, by the early evening, by the possibility of what could come- hoping at the very least for a decent night with someone nice. Dressed to impress yet unsure of how the evening would unfold, nerves and excitement settling quietly between. From the very start, Sergio was an absolute gentleman, guiding the conversation with ease. His confidence, his smile, his way of noticing the little things, like how I looked, the effort I’d made that I felt had never really been noticed before, thanking me for making the time to spend with him. It was refreshing to say the least. I was shy, nervously excited. But every little laugh, every shared look, every subtle spark felt new and magnetic. He was unlike anyone I’d ever met. We enjoyed sushi, sake, and moments that seemed small then but were quietly monumental. Between the first date and the time he met my family, he told me with unwavering certainty that I would be his. I’d always laugh, tease and said, “We’ll see.” Little did we know, those first steps- the conversations, the laughter, the sparks- were already leading us into a beautiful future.

From Moments to Forever

02.16.2025

For Valentine’s Day weekend, Sergio planned a romantic escape to Eden Vale Inn: a quiet, tucked-away resort that felt worlds away, in the best way. From the moment we left our homes, our car ride was filled with the little moments that make us us: stolen kisses, shared smiles and laughs, excitement for a new adventure, the best music, and serene views that made the world feel suspended. Arriving at Eden Vale was like stepping into a dream: our room was beautifully decorated, a fresh bouquet of flowers awaited me, chilled champagne and crystal glasses sparkled, and the views literally took our breath away. Sergio could barely contain his excitement for the stargazing experience scheduled for the next day, that he’d been hinting at for over a month. On the day of the proposal, we began with a peaceful walk, soaking in the quiet, the nature around us and the scenery, while the biggest moment of our lives thus far was just a few hours away. As we got ready later, the air shifted- he was buzzing with a new energy, still composed, yet different in a way I couldn’t quite place. That evening, we departed for our stargazing activity. We spent a quiet moment outside, enjoyed a snack, and were greeted by the innkeeper with a beautiful charcuterie board, more champagne, and a private dock overlooking the lake and canyon- the same breathtaking view from earlier. Above us stretched the sky, with just a few stars starting to sparkle as if they were hinting at the magical moment ahead. When the telescope needed a test, Sergio didn’t volunteer as usual. I stepped forward, confused that he didn’t, but unaware of what was about to happen. As the innkeeper stepped back in to adjust the telescope, Sergio gently guided me toward the dock. We walked a few steps, me in front of him- Then as we approached the edge, he asked me to turn around. I turn to look at him and he was on one knee. Time seemed to slow as it took me a moment to understand. Then I began to hear him speak. His words-full of the love we express to each other every day, yet somehow brighter and renewed- felt like home, yet as if it was the first time he told me he loved me all over again. Everything else faded around us as our little moment unfolded. Of course, I said yes. The sky, the lake, the canyon, and the small family at the inn witnessed our moment- surreal, perfect, and unforgettable. That night, under a blanket of stars, with the blessings of our loved ones and a beautiful life ahead, we stepped into the newest chapter of our forever.
