Their love story started in the least likely place: Texas. Kyla was living in the DFW area, and Claudia was on her way to Fort Worth for a Construction Conference. Kyla, bold and bored as ever, sent Claudia a DM in response to a Instagram story Claudia posted about her upcoming trip to the Lone Star State. A few messages exchanged, and Kyla suggested a few local places for Claudia to try while in town. Without hesitation and with hopes of a new connection in an unknown state, Claudia asked Kyla to join her for a drink at Thompson's Bookstore in Fort Worth. After two Old Fashions and the spark notes synopsis of each other's lives, Claudia asked Kyla to see her again before she left town, and two nights later they met up again where the sparks continued to fly, and well, so did they. You see, Kyla lived in Texas but Claudia is a born and raised, true New Yorker. (GO YANKEES) They dated, long distance, for about six months before Kyla moved back to her home town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and often drove the six hours, continuing to fall in love with New York City (and Claudia). Eventually the couple moved in together, and after another six months and countless hours spend on Zillow, Claudia and Kyla found their mid-century modern dream home, back in Pennsylvania. The day after they closed, Claudia woke Kyla up for the first sunrise in their new home, surprised her with the question and promise of forever to which Kyla without hesitation said "YES!!"
