Armature Works was originally constructed in 1910 as part of the Tampa Electric Company (TECO). The building served as a storage and maintenance facility for the streetcars that were vital to Tampa's transportation network in the early 20th century. With the advent of automobiles and the decline of streetcar usage in the mid-20th century, Armature Works experienced a gradual decline. For several decades, the building remained dormant, its future uncertain. Despite its historical significance, Armature Works faced the same fate as many industrial structures of its time: abandonment and neglect. In 2016, Armature Works underwent an extensive renovation, preserving its historic character while infusing it with modern amenities. The restoration aimed to honor the building's industrial roots, showcasing exposed brick, original beams, and other architectural features that tell the story of its past. https://armatureworks.com/history/
We ask that the ceremony is unplugged. Feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like during the cocktail hour and reception. We will have a QR code for everyone to upload photos to a shared website. You are welcome to post any photos or videos online.
