You know what they say: good things come to those who wait. And wait we did. Josh and I (hi, yes this is Hannah writing this) were causal acquaintances through much of elementary and middle school. We both attended Saint Isaac Jogues Catholic School but, being a grade apart, our social circles didn’t cross much. It wasn’t until 2016, when Josh was a senior in high school and I was a junior, that we really started to get to know each other. A Twitter DM from Josh led to a movie date, which eventually led to a prom-posal and, thus, the beginning of our relationship. That’s where our love story began. Unfortunately, that’s also where our story of long distancing began as well. Shortly after Josh’s prom, Josh went to college at Oakland University and I stayed home to finish my high school senior year. After that, I began college at Albion with Josh still studying at Oakland. Then, I studied abroad in Ireland. Then COVID, a time during which we had to quarantine separately. Then, Josh spent a semester at Louisiana State University. During this time, we relied on phone calls, texts, FaceTime calls, and weekend visits to stay connected. We thrived on the in-between during the summer before college semesters began once again, spending as much time together as possible. Most of that time was spent working together at Brownies on the Lake (may she rest in peace) until, FINALLY, we rented our first apartment together in July 2023. We got our Border Collie, Beckett, shortly after moving into that apartment and Josh proposed on October 13th, 2023. And now, here we are! Nine and a half years, to the date, after Josh asked me to prom. We are incredibly honored to share this special day with you, the most important people in our lives <3 See you on the dance floor, H+J
