Our StoryOur Story
Our story began on the first Friday of October 2020. From a message on Hinge to a proposal near Mount Fuji, almost five years later.
We almost didn’t make it to where we are today. Mia was hesitant to meet Andrew, but after some encouragement from her friends, she agreed. What sealed the deal? Andrew’s booking at Zushi. Little did he know, it was one of Mia’s favourite restaurants.
They agreed to meet at Pier 2 on the wharf, but Andrew missed the pier entirely. Mia was seconds away from thinking it was all a setup and walking off. Despite the rocky start, they quickly discovered that two chatterboxes with a shared love of food and wine meant hours of talking, laughing, and drinking.
The second date followed soon after when Mia left an earring in Andrew’s car. Andrew says this was no accident; Mia strongly disagrees.
Four and a half years later, near Mount Fuji, Andrew finally surprised even the ever-curious Mia and got down on one knee.
