Enjoy the Barrows House offerings! Pickleball courts, a heated salt water pool, games on the lawn.
Now a 60-foot-deep swimming hole, The Dorset Quarry is the first commercial quarry in the US. The quarry supplied marble for the New York Public Library. The quarry closed during World War I, and a natural spring soon filled it with water, creating a popular swimming destination.
Scenic views right in southern Dorset. A tough but scenic hike up to the peak of Owls Head, about 2.5-3 hours round trip. Passing cliffs and caves on your way up to the view of the surrounding valley area. Park at the trailhead on Raptor Lane.
About a 2-hour hike up-and-down, Prospect Rock Trail overlooks the Town of Manchester and has great views of the Green Mountain National Forest. The town of Manchester is a great spot to stop on your way back to Dorset!
Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home is the former summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln and his wife Mary Harlan Lincoln, located in Manchester Center, Vermont. The gardens should be in full bloom in late June! We enjoyed a tour of the beautiful house and gardens when we were in the area looking at venues. Hildene does host weddings, so please call to inquire about tour availability.
A woodworking and kitchenware company right in Dorset Vermont! They have a full warehouse/woodworking shop that he would love to show you around. There's a farmers' market each Sunday morning right in the woodworking warehouse. (for the recond: Marcus started making cutting boards first!)
Orvis' flagship store is located in Manchester. A very Vermont thing to check out if you're in the area! If you're interested in a day of fly-fishing, Trico Unlimited is a recommended guide in the area.
