Our love story began at Hayden’s 21st birthday party when we first met. Karlee only knew of Evan as Hayden’s pilot friend and Evan only knew Karlee as Hayden’s *cute* sister (lol). Our friendship grew quickly after spending many days on the lake together. On August 2, 2021, Evan asked Karlee to be his girlfriend at Molly Moon’s ice cream.

On a sunny Friday in August, Evan took me on a flight to the San Juan Islands. Once we landed at the Friday Harbor airport, we walked to a beautiful park that overlooked the Friday Harbor Marina. He had picked out a specific bench with an unforgettable view. After several minutes of taking in the view, I noticed he was fiddling with his pocket. Then he asked, "will you be my wife?" I don't remember how many times I said "yes" but this was the easiest decision I have ever made. After lunch we flew back to the airport where our families and closest friends were waiting to celebrate with us at a surprise engagement party. It was a perfect day. We can't wait to celebrate with each of you next August!
