It all started on Hinge in April 2021 - the app “designed to be deleted.” Courtney and Jordan matched after bonding over his prompt that his last meal would be tequila and tacos, which Courtney fully supported. She was excited to meet him, but a little nervous, so she did what anyone would do... waited a few weeks before agreeing to their first date. Dinner at Margarita City was quick (as it tends to be), but neither of them was ready for the night to end. They took the conversation to Courtney’s car and ended up talking for another five hours, which, looking back, was a pretty good preview of what was to come. They celebrated their first anniversary in Newport and quickly discovered a shared obsession with coastal New England - give them a beach, a lighthouse, or an ocean view and they’re happy. Since then they’ve camped their way around the Northeast and planned trips whenever they can. That’s why, when Courtney started “just browsing” wedding venues long before they were engaged, Scituate stood out right away.

On December 31, 2025, Jordan pulled off a perfectly planned surprise proposal with help from Sarah - a shocking level of organization from the non-planner of the relationship. Courtney was convinced she was just going for a pre-cruise nail appointment thanks to Sarah’s “new year, new nails” suggestion. Looking back, that was definitely the first sign something was going on. When Courtney got home, Jordan had filled their bedroom (in their first home together) with candles and rose petals. Still processing what was happening, Courtney was then told they were heading to dinner with their parents, which was met with an immediate, “I have nothing to wear!!” For anyone who knows Courtney, you know it takes her weeks to plan an outfit like this in advance. Dinner turned out to be a surprise celebration with 30 of their closest friends and family. It was thoughtful, meaningful, and exactly how Courtney would have hoped the moment would unfold.
