Our Story

Brittany was bartending at Social House in Orlando while finishing her undergraduate degree at UCF. Jacob was a regular. Fridays were her favorite shift—the weekend was near, obligations were minimal, and there was a chance she might see him during the few minutes of happy hour before her shift change. She didn’t know much about him yet, but she was drawn to his baby blue eyes, his respectful-but-degenerate vibe, and little gestures like always tipping well. Later, she learned that Jacob had noticed her too, though he never acted on it—he wasn’t the “hit-on-the-bartender” type—but Brittany had already caught his attention. The first real sign that something was happening—long before they officially hung out—was the now-famous buffalo chicken salad. Brittany prided herself on rarely messing up an order, but when Jacob came in for lunch one day and asked for a salad “no tomatoes,” she didn’t even notice the mistake—she was too distracted flirting with him. Jacob ate the salad happily, and at the end she realized he had picked all the tomatoes out. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” she said, and he laughed it off. Over the years, Brittany has always reminded him that she was so mesmerized that day she wasn’t even focused on customer service. Their first official hangout was a Saturday brunch in March 2018, when their friend groups met at a local bar. Within the first week, Jacob told Brittany he loved her. Brittany was caught off guard, but she realized she felt the same way. Looking back, it was clear they had both been noticing each other long before that first hangout. Their relationship moved fast but wasn’t always smooth. There was a push-and-pull phase, born from the fear that something this good couldn’t last. Life tested them, but they couldn’t stay away. That phase only made them stronger and more committed to choosing each other every day. Over the past eight years, Brittany and Jacob have built a life full of adventures—from trips to concerts, to UCF and NFL games, breweries, the list goes on. They’ve stabilized their careers, both earned MBAs, moved states, bought a home they love, welcomed their perfect son, and grown their family with their dogs. Soon, everyone will officially be a Cagle—Brittany included—though Jacob jokes she’s been a Cagle in his mind since the day they met. Legally, they’ve been married since October 12, 2024, but life—moving, buying a home, welcoming Liam, and navigating parenthood—delayed the ceremony they’d always imagined. Brittany hadn’t changed her last name yet, wanting to hold on to the moment she’d been waiting for: walking down the aisle with her dad, seeing Jacob’s face, and celebrating with friends and family. On October 9, 2026, Brittany and Jacob will finally mark the next chapter—laughing about buffalo chicken salads, roasting each other like always, and continuing to choose each other every single day.
