Question

Do your venues have any specific rules to follow?

Answer

SO glad you asked! Calvin doesn't have any notable rules. Our reception venue has a sustainability policy that does not allow for disposables (single use plastics, disposable containers or wrappers, etc.) in the building. Please leave the reception with EVERYTHING you came with and be mindful of this rule as a courtesy of our friends at The Rutledge. :)

Question

I didn't RSVP a specific meal or note allergies - will there be accommodations for me?

Answer

Our dinner will be buffet-style and will have a variety of options to choose from, so that you can build your own plate to your liking! If you have dietary restrictions or severe allergies, please reach out to John or I with those specifications and we will do our best to accommodate.

Question

Are there any other weekend events we should be aware of?

Answer

Nope! Just the ceremony, and cocktail hour/reception... although we won't stop you from taking the party elsewhere after the reception ends!

Question

There aren't many options left on your registry but we still want to get you something - any suggestions?

Answer

While you aren't obligated to get us anything, we appreciate the sentiment! We already have a lot of the items we need, so money is always appreciated if you'd still like to give us something.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Calvin University has plenty of parking near the chapel - You will see signs when you arrive. The reception venue doesn't have parking near the building, but there is free street parking (if you can find it) on the weekends, and a large parking garage at studio park: 120 Ottawa Ave SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

No formal dress code, but we'd prefer you not to show up in sweatpants - think dressy casual! (like "game day formal" or "protestant church service")

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Ceremony starts at 3:30 - Unless you are immediate family or in the bridal party, we would prefer you not to show up earlier than 3:00. If you are chronically running late (like Marisa), give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes. :)
