Things To Do + Places to Eat

The Wedding Website of Kalen Perry and Caleb Biggers
We are so excited to make a few suggestions of our favorite things to do in the area, should you want to make this a mini-vacation! June is my favorite month in Carteret County because of the mild temperature and soothing ocean breeze. I hope you'll enjoy your time in my hometown. - Kalen
Reed's Coffee + Art + Framing

Reed's Coffee + Art + Framing

812 Evans Street, Morehead City, NC 28557

Caleb and I love this coffee shop and the sweet lady, Reed Meador, who owns it! If you need some fuel before hitting the beach or the downtown Morehead shops, we recommend you stop at Reed's.

Queen Anne's Revenge

Queen Anne's Revenge

400 Front Street, Beaufort, NC 28516

If you are looking for DELICIOUS food and a great view in Beaufort at a great price, I strongly recommend Queen Anne's Revenge. It is my personal favorite and the first one I recommend as a local to anyone coming into town for the first time!

Cape Lookout

Cape Lookout

Harkers Island, NC 28531
, 2527287433

This is a great way to spend your day, especially if you have kids! Take a 20 minute ferry ride from Harkers Island to the Cape (a nationally protected and preserved seashore). Once on the island, checkout the lighthouse, ride down to the point or just relax on the beach. When you get back to the "mainland" check out the Core Sound Museum to learn a little about the Downeast Heritage.

Fort Macon State Park

Fort Macon State Park

2303 East Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512

Spend a few hours at Fort Macon State Park before hitting the beach. Fort Macon is a popular field trip destination for local schools, in fact, Kalen went quite often as a young girl. While at Fort Macon, you can learn about a fort that was operational during the Civil War and even explore a multi-mile walking trail that will lead you from the sound-side to the ocean-side. Highly recommend this!

Promise Land Market

Promise Land Market

909-B Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557

Caleb and I love swinging by Promise Land on a Friday night. They often have live music and great apps. This is a great vibe for anyone who wants a touch of small town night life without any of the rowdiness.

Beach Bumz Pub & Pizzaria

Beach Bumz Pub & Pizzaria

515 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557

Every couple has their favorite local "hole in the wall" joint. For Caleb and I, its Beach Bumz. This place may not look like much...but the pizza is YUM-MY. If you're looking for a great place on the Morehead City Waterfront, we recommend you check it out.

Ioanni's Grill

Ioanni's Grill

4138 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557

Ioanni's is another favorite of mine and Caleb's...though, we will tell you, do NOT go to Ioanni's if you're in a rush. While the food is unbeatable bar food, the wait times can be on the longer side. The food is cheap, good and the atmosphere (prior to 10 PM) is fun and relaxed. Give this place a try if you're coming off the beach and want some greasy but delicious food.

For all the days along the way
