Venue & Seating
Answer
Our wedding will be held at Vaughn House with limited seating for 50 guests. If you have a lap child, you may bring them, but the venue is very strict about seating and will only allow lap children as extras. The ceremony will be held at the greenhouse and the reception will be split between green space outdoors and covered seated outdoor tables. We are asking everyone to BYOB meaning Bring Your Own Blanket! Our wedding is in October and likely we will have some nice cooler weather to sit out on the lawn. We will also have chairs available if you do not want to bring an outdoor blanket to sit outdoors and socialize.

Guests: Please be aware that we do not have hotel blocks reserved, so it is strongly encouraged to book accommodations as soon as possible. Lynchburg, Virginia is the closest big city to Forest, Virginia and has several hotels available for booking. Additionally, there are Airbnbs throughout the area available for booking. Wedding party: Please see FAQ for accommodation options.

Parking at Vaughn House is limited. Carpooling is strongly encouraged where possible. Consider ride-sharing services if carpooling isn't an option. ****Update as of 9/24/25: Please note the venue has notified us that there are closures to be aware of. They advised to use Apple Maps if you need navigation to get there. See instructions below: Option #1: Coming from Lynchburg: Take 221 West (Forest Road) Turn left on Gladden Circle Turn sharp left on Elkton Farm Road (gravel road) You'll see another bridge and West Manor Estate in front of you. Turn left to continue on Elkton Farm 4th house on the left (not including the two under construction) You will not see the house from the road! The driveway has a sharp incline. You'll see a green, oval 'Private Residence' sign on a large tree on the left. Head on up the driveway and you'll see one of our coordinators! Option #2: Coming from Bedford: Take 221 East (Forest Road) Turn right on Gladden Circle Turn right on Elkton Farm Road (gravel road) You'll see another bridge and West Manor Estate in front of you. The awesome "Go Bar" will be serving our drinks! We will have vegan options available for both dinner and dessert.

Cocktail Attire for Guests For men, this means a suit and tie (though the jacket could come off during the reception). For women, cocktail dresses or semi-elegant separates are appropriate. Please wear clothing you are comfortable moving around in and shoes are welcome to come off during the reception. We will have lots of green space and it is an outdoor venue. Wedding party: please see the wedding party FAQ for specifics!

Bridesmaid's Attire: Christina will send a link to the lookbook in June! If you have any questions, reach out to me directly to ask: 904-343-0829. Groomsmen's Attire: Sean will reach out in June with details! If you have any questions, reach out to him directly to ask: 540-521-3798. Airbnb: We have rented an Airbnb for the wedding party with the understanding that some folks may not want to stay in a big group and may want to instead stay with their significant other/family. Please let us know by August 1, 2025 if you would like to be apart of our big group stay! We have limited space for 11 guests to join us. The cost would be $142/person for Sunday, October 5th (4PM) - Tuesday, October 7th (10AM). Rehearsal: We will hold a laidback rehearsal the night before, October 5th, 2025 at 7PM at the wedding party Airbnb. We'll order takeout for all of us to hangout and get to know each other! Please, please, please show up to the rehearsal so that you know what to do the day of :)

BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket)!

We will have lots of green space to spread out. Vaughn House is a beautiful, plant-filled outdoor green space. We are asking that everyone who wants to brings an outdoor blanket if you'd like to lounge around while you socialize, drink, and eat. We will have a bunch of yard games and other activities available for entertainment during the reception!

2:45 - guests begin arriving 3:00 - ceremony 3:20 - ceremony ends & pictures occur 4:00 - cocktail hour 5:00 - reception begins (dinner & dessert, cake cutting, special dances, open dancing, yard games, etc.) 6:30 - guest gifts, lineup for exit 7:00 - hard stop at 7 :)
