Rochester Museum & Science Center
Another top notch museum in Rochester, and as a science teacher-to-be I highly recommend. From geology, to history, to awesome interactive displays, this is a winner. Added bonus, visit the Strasenburg Planetarium next-door for a star show with the telescope named Carl or a film on the big screen!
Corbett's Glen Nature Park
Great hiking, especially at this time of year with the leaves changing. A beautiful way to tire everyone out before you have to get in the car for the drive home!
Seneca Park Zoo
Support. Zoos. Y'all. Seneca Park is the perfect size to do in a few hours, has stuff for kids and adults too, and supports TONS of awesome research and conservation programs! Win. Win. Win.
Genesee Brew House
Can't come to Rochester without cracking open a Genny! The brew house has great craft beers (more than just Genny Lite I promise), fantastic food, and if you can get seated outside there's an amazing view of High Falls and the skyline.
Dogtown Hots
People if you're looking for an authentic Rochester experience and also to eat so much that you hate yourself, look no further than the garbage plate. Truly a culinary masterpiece that will take you straight to Flavortown, USA. Tastes better than it sounds (we promise).
Strangebird Beer
This is an awesome new brewery downtown that we absolutely love! Great beer and fantastic food!
Abbott's Frozen Custard
Ice cream at the beach is my absolute favorite Rochester summer tradition, and Abbotts can't be beat.
