David and Emily became good friends after meeting at Texas State University in 2017. In 2020, after a memorable Labor Day weekend on Lake Travis with friends, they started dating. They both lived Austin for work before moving to Houston in 2022. On December 26, 2024, David proposed to Emily at Memorial Park, one of her favorite spots in Houston... rain and all!
