FAQs

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Your presence is truly gift enough! We cannot express the extent of our gratitude for everyone's willingness to make the trek out to our destination wedding (especially you, Drew). Material gifts, monetary or otherwise, are respectfully declined. There will NOT be a money or card box at the wedding. We'd love for you to spend any gift budget on treating yourself while you're in Canada. Rory votes for a fun activity while Thao votes for a fun meal; either way, send us a photo and tell us the highlights!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Due to limited venue capacity, we've made the difficult decision to only extend invites to children above the age of 2. Please check your invitation for additional details; we are only able to accommodate those specified. We hope you'll consider this a date night / adults weekend getaway!

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

As soon as possible, no later than May 31, 2024.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire! Note that there is a short dirt path to the ceremony area which might influence your shoe choice. No white suits or dresses and limited pink, please.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, please drink the cider! There will be 4 alcoholic options that we personally selected (trust that we did an extensive tasting solely for research purposes) and two non-alcoholic ciders. Beer, wine, and well drinks will also be available upon request.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

We encourage guests to take advantage of our shuttle service; visit our Travel page for more information. There are limited (25-30) parking spots available on-site and vehicles are allowed to remain overnight until 11am the following day. Rideshare services (i.e. Uber/Lyft) are new in Canada, and as of Jan 2024, driver availability was limited. You can also arrange taxis through your hotel.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Ceremony & cocktail hour will be outdoors, reception will be indoors. Victoria's average high temperature in July is 68F.

Question

Is it worth flying into Vancouver?

Answer

Yes! We love Vancouver, and if you can spare the extra time, we highly recommend extending your trip to include a visit to the city. Check out our Things to Do page for additional inspiration. Note that taking the ferry between Vancouver and Victoria is a ~3 hour experience (including a beautiful 90 min boat ride), costs approximately $200 round trip per car, and pre-booking is recommended to avoid long wait times. On the other hand, if you can only spare a few days, flying directly into Victoria will save on travel time.

Question

Will I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, US citizens will need a passport that is valid for 6 months BEYOND your travel dates. Note that processing times are currently 2-3 months so make sure to apply early!

Question

Will my electronic devices work in Canada?

Answer

Yes! Outlets and voltage are the same as in the U.S.

Question

Will I need Canadian cash?

Answer

Generally you can get by with a credit card. If your card charges foreign transaction fees, cash won't hurt. We've only had to use cash in Canada to tip for tours or for tiny shops off the beaten path, and even then they were happy to accept USD.
