Thalia and I have one crazy love story. We met in 6th grade as we were in the same class; however, she doesn't remember me from then.... she will tell you we met in high school. Either way, we MET, and that's all that matters. We began our love story in 2016 as seniors in high school. Common sense probably should've told us that second semester of senior year was not the best time to start a relationship, but at that time, it didn't matter. The beauty of our relationship is that we actually started out as friends and built from there. I didn't know we were planning on being just friends, but was made aware pretty quick when she texted me that she was going on a date with her boyfriend and we couldn't talk anymore.... YIKES. Needless to say, she shortly broke up with him after and we started dating January 15th, 2016. Fast forward to college where I went to UC San Diego and she stayed in Corona, going to Norco College. Spending that hour and a half apart felt so far, and many of nights were spent talking on FaceTime. We balanced college, work, and fun the best we could, but it was far from easy. Many nights I would get home and want to see/talk to Thalia, but she was busy studying and vice versa. After two years of that "long distance" relationship, Thalia decided to attend San Jose State University, turning our hour and a half travel time into about six and a half hours, meaning our twice a month visits were no longer. We knew that this would be a hard transition, but I encouraged Thalia to "be selfish and follow your dreams". I had my chance, and now, it was her turn to spread her wings and fly. I am so thankful that she did. It solidified, and intensified, our love for each other. On March 21st, I proposed to Thalia in my childhood room, and although it was not the proposal I had planned, it turned out to be perfect! We moved in together shortly after and expanded our family late last year, adding our precious Nova to our family!
