We flirted harmlessly in the hallways of Romeoville High School, unknowingly cultivating a lifelong friendship. Shortly after, we attended Eastern Illinois University together where our love story blossomed. We became aware that God had divinely designed us for one another. Now, we take this leap that will not only bind us as friends for life, but partners. We have shared both laughs and loss, trials and truth, but above all, love.

Our closest family and friends gathered for an intimate proposal at an art gallery. Brian McKnight's "Back at One" echoed over the speaker. Thaija's blindfold was removed revealing a nervous, but handsome Jaylen down on one knee where he popped the question. Overcome with emotion, Thaija exclaimed “Duh!” The two spent the remainder of the evening celebrating in total bliss!
