Ohio's tagline rang true for Madelyn & Josh. Madelyn was visiting her best friend's family in Ohio when they set her up on an impromptu double-date, with Josh. They had an interesting night, both parties thinking the other was way out of their league. Madelyn & Josh developed (unknowingly) mutual crushes on each other over the next month as she prepared to move to Ohio permanently. After Madelyn moved to Josh's hometown (much to his surprise), he did some digging & realized he very much had a shot with her. They hung out for 8 hours straight, swapping stories, listening to music, & feeling like they had known each other for a lifetime. They found it here.

Madelyn & Josh had been dating for just over four months, & while they both felt called to pursue marriage with each other, Josh surprised Madelyn with the proposal. Like, legit surprised her..she had no clue it was happening until he was on one knee. Madelyn was sick the week before Christmas & Josh slyly took one of her favorite rings to match the size for an engagement ring. Josh went & picked out the ring with the help of his best man, & within a couple weeks was holding onto the ring box in his coveralls at work. In true Josh Frey fashion, he could not wait to propose & ultimately had the ring in his possession for only several hours before getting down on one knee. Josh presented Madelyn with a Bible & as she read through Corinthians 13 aloud, Josh was behind her waiting to ask the question of a lifetime. After a 10 second dramatic silence (totally due to Madelyn's shock), the answer was simply: "UH, YES?!"
