Where to Eat & What to Do

Coffee & Cafes in Asbury Park & Ocean Grove

Odyssey Coffee: the new hip coffee spot in Ocean Grove, it just moved locations on Main Ave to have even more seating. Cafe Volan: a cafe and coffee shop in Asbury Park with all the morning beverages you need. The Art of the Bean: a cozy cafe with light breakfast bites and loads of couches and seating on Cookman in Asbury Park.

Breakfast Brunch & Lunch in Asbury Park

The Speakeatery: Breakfast or lunch sandwiches, salads, and more. A very popular lunch spot for the Lotz/Smith families. The Cardinal: Hip, delicious, women owned/operated. Everything is great! Porta: located a block from the beach, sit outside on a picnic table or inside at the bar, Porta is a perfect vibe for a drink and/or a delicious Italian meal. Brunch, lunch or dinner! Toast: Yes, the same Toast as the one in Montclair! Toast is a true breakfast/lunch spot that has all of your classic favorites and more. Playa Bowl: Will make all your smoothie and acai bowl wishes come true! Located on Cookman. Griffy's Organics: A juice bar and smoothie bar in Asbury on Bangs Ave.

Restaurants We Love in Ocean Grove

*Ocean Grove is a dry town, so no bars here! The Starving Artist: located on Pitman Ave or Olin (2 entrances), the Starving Artist is an excellent breakfast, brunch, or lunch spot serving the classics. Sea Grass: a great BYO seafood restaurant serving lunch and dinner on Main Ave.

Bars/Restaurants We Love in Asbury Park

Low Dive (formerly known as Yacht Club): On the boardwalk, Low Dive is a chill, no-frills spot with seating inside or out. Bond Street Bar: An Asbury institution that's never changed. It's divey and cheap (and cash only). They also have food! *Bond Street Bar is attached to the complex, inclusive of The Basement (another bar in, yep, the basement) Loteria (Mexican restaurant), and Capital Line (Italian restaurant) Johnny Mac's: Located on Main Street in Asbury just off Cookman, Johnny Mac's has it all. Inside, outside, skeeball, and free pizza when you order a drink. R Bar: Get amped for our NOLA-syle parade band with a drink or meal at R Bar, a New Orleans-style spot on Main Street. Black Swan: Great for anyone watching a soccer game or craving a pint and classic pub food. MOGO: located on Cookman, this Korean taco/burrito spot is one of Katie's favorites. *No Alcohol* Talula's: located on Cookman, incredible pizza and salads. The Galley: Pizza, sandwiches and more!

Go To The Beach!

If the weather is nice (and we hope it is!) spend some time on the beaches of Ocean Grove or Asbury Park!

Explore the Boardwalk!

The boardwalk runs from the north end of Asbury Park for miles southward. It's a great place to go for a nice walk or run. While Ocean Grove's boardwalk does not have much on it besides beautiful views of the beach and town, Asbury is full of shops, restaurants, and the historic Convention Hall building. The Silverball Retro Arcade is a pinball museum on the boardwalk. You can play a million pinball machines ranging from decades ago to now. Apparently it's very cool, but we've never been. So go and tell us about it! A block off the boardwalk next to the Asbury Hotel is Danny Clinch's Transparent Clinch Art Gallery. Check out his incredible photography.
