Tevin and Katie met while students at UVA (go 'Hoos!!), during the annual Hullabahoo/Dance Team mixer. We didn't come to know each other until one fateful night during our 4th year beach week, when we bonded over all of the shenanigans going on around us. We grew close over the next year, spending many nights up until 2am talking and getting to know each other as friends. One year later, thanks to some awesome pals (love you Gabe and Surya!), we FINALLY took the step and went on our first date. Since we already knew each other so well, we immediately fell head over heels in love, and it's been an adventure ever since. Fast forward to now, we've been together for over 4 years. From being long distance for 2 years, to living in DC, adopting our sweet labradoodle Bennett, and eventually buying our first home together, we couldn't feel more blessed by the beautiful life we're building together. We are SO excited to celebrate with you on 9/30/2022, exactly 5 years after our first date!

Tevin wrote a book (yes...a BOOK) telling the story of his and Katie’s love. He had the book illustrated and titled it, “The Perfect Rhythm.” He asked various family members and friends to each record themselves reading a page of the book, which Katie’s sister Hannah then compiled into one video. On their first day of vacation in Savannah, GA, Tevin snuck out to set up the proposal while Katie was napping. An hour later, he called to wake her and told her to check her email. She opened her email to find a video of some of the most important people (and dogs) in their lives telling the story of their love, as written by Tevin. She followed the instructions in the video and met Tevin at the fountain at Forsyth Park, where he had set up the proposal and was waiting with a photographer. After he got down on one knee, Katie immediately said, “YES! Wait, are you SURE?!” After a quick photoshoot around the park, Tevin whisked Katie off where he surprised her with a horse-drawn carriage ride around Savannah at sunset. It was the most magical, thoughtful, beautiful proposal, better than anything Katie ever could’ve pictured or pinterest-boarded. Tevin absolutely killed it.
