Our story began when we were just 11 years old at Stilwell Middle School. We became friends, and like most middle school love stories, we “went together” on and off. Fast forward to high school… life took us down different paths, and we stopped talking for a while. At 15, I became pregnant. During that season, Tevin was there for me in a different way, as a friend, a safe place, and a shoulder to lean on. He stood by me through my pregnancy and after Izaiah was born. Then, when Izaiah was 9 months old, on November 22, 2009, Tevin asked me to be his girlfriend. From that day forward, we’ve been inseparable in heart. After high school, Tevin went away to college in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he earned his degree. For 5 years, we navigated the challenges of a long-distance relationship, balancing school, parenting, and growing into adulthood. It wasn’t easy, but our love endured, and God’s hand carried us through. On November 22, 2020, we stood before God, our family, and our friends to say “I do.” Now, 5 years later, we are returning to that same sacred date to say it all over again, not just as a renewal of vows, but as a celebration of covenant, growth, and God’s faithfulness in our marriage. From middle school crushes to teenage parenthood, long distance, and now 5 years of marriage, this union has always been more than love. It has been God-ordained, tested, strengthened, and blessed.
