We met like any other young adults tend to, through a dating app 🐝 One of Andrew's favorite things to recall is the memory from the time he was left out in a heavy storm that ended up being a tornado!!! This was their third date and he picked her up to take go out for some hibachi at a local restaurant. Her reasoning of leaving him out in the rain? She didn't want her family to meet Andrew just yet, or really, she didnt want Andrew to meet her crazy family yet. Despite the tornado sirens blaring 10 miles away, he had no entry. However, despite a stormy start, the evening ended splendidly with their first kiss and a plan for more dates!
Tevia "I said 'I love you' first. We were at one of his friends homes, they were having a get-together and I decided to challenge said friend to beer pong. IT WAS UNEVEN GROUND OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE WON! In the process, Andrew stepped up and helped with the drinks, as I was unfortunately losing, something thats normally not fun for me as I’m pretty competitive. In that moment I realized how much fun I was having by losing, and it was because he was by my side and just making it all the more fun. It kind of just slipped out without much thought. I said it after we lost the game. and I meant it. I am truly so happy that I’ve gotten to say it him everyday since.” Andrew “The night I took Tevia to a charity ball was cool, the air crisp with a gentle breeze. The moon hung full in the sky as we got out of the car in the parking lot, and the stars danced in the sky as Tevia did a quick spin in her green dress. We went, arm and arm into the ball. Tevia was excited for another night out, but I was intent on her never forgetting this beautiful night. With a demonstration of tickets we were away, swept up by the live jazz band and the beautiful displays of athleticism on the dance floor. I led her out into the floor amidst a gap in the music. The singer, serendipitously, began singing Beyond the Sea. And as the piano tickled the ivory, and the brush of the drums, I spun Tevia into the middle of the dance floor. If everyone wasn’t stunningly jealous I’d be surprised, but to be honest I only had eyes for one woman in the room as she flowed across the floor in my arms. As the music swelled to a conclusion, I spun her closer in my arms as the music gentle concluded. There, in the silence, the world dropped away as if it were only us there, suspended in time on the dance floor in the dim cool light. As I held her, softly, not wanting to let go I whispered gently, ‘I love you.’”
I knew he was going to. Right around our two-year anniversary we went out for a nice date. Andrew had prefaced this as a surprise and to dress nice. He took us to the location of our first date, Quakertown Park. This is where Denton annually holds the Jazz festival. We walked around, enjoying the nice spring weather when he pulled me into a hug and asked "You know how you always say you want to get married?" as he pulled back he got on his knees and pulled out the ring box and proposed right then and there. I cried really hard and laughed at the same time muttering some expletives about how I knew he was going to propose. It was honestly the sweetest moment between us and I couldn't have been happier.
