Both of us were involved with Cru (a campus ministry) and one friday afternoon everyone was headed to Beacon Heights for a sunset hike. My friend and I (Teva) hitched a ride with Conor. We annoyed my friend by blasting Relient K the entire drive. As the semesters went on, we interacted somewhat, but it wasn’t until we were co-workers at Ransom Pub in mid-2019 that we really started to get to know each other.
January 2019, We were working a lot together, and Conor would give me rides home. Before classes started that spring, Conor asked me to dinner, but I said no. (Lol sorry). A month later he got the courage to ask me again, and this time, I said yes. April 2019, We decided we liked each other enough that we wanted to continue to pursue a relationship. (Only after I told him I didn’t think I was quite ready only two weeks prior.)
Conor planned a small date on the parkway; a small picnic and maybe some drinks later. We hung around “our spot” for about an hour and then decided to head to Blowing Rock. Conor suggested walking around Broyhill Park. As we were walking he tried to distract me, but I spotted his sister, Kirsten. He played it off by saying she wanted to surprise me for dinner. We started walking, then he turned to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. I agreed right away. This was followed up with dinner with his family and a couple of our friends.
