Best Lady
Sab & Tess met as high schoolers at the Harpeth Hall School for Girls and have been inseparable since – even moving to/staying in DC for each other. Before they were friends, let alone best friends (for 15 years now!), Sabrina made Tess a red velvet cake because she "knew" Tess from MySpace, and Tess dropped her school laptop into it. Sabrina’s mom’s favorite memory of them is when they were both grounded on July 4th, so they celebrated the USA in Sab’s room with bologna and more red velvet cake (not to brag, but they have moved up in life and now enjoy jumbo slices and mulled wine). Sabrina is also the brains behind Charles's perfect proposal.
Best Man & Officiant
Washington, DC. Law school friend of the bride and groom. Pat and Tess met early in law school as they were in the same small section. Pat and Charles met during a law firm-hosted meet and greet at the Whiskey Jar. Pat is responsible for first introducing the couple.
Bridesmaid
Julia & Tess first met at San Lorenzo in DC during an Uncle Bill dinner to which they were both early; their Virgo placements quickly recognized a kindred spirit. Tess is so excited to have a reason to visit Miami, but especially to have a "sister" to run with on Thanksgiving (and then eat a lot of cheese with after).
Groomsman
Nashville, TN. Brother of the bride. Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Noah is a musician by heart and profession.
Bridesmaid
Maddie & Tess both live in DC, which has resulted in thousands of burratas and halloumis during dinners with Uncle Bill. Tess feels so lucky she has a "sister" in the same city with whom to split meals, tan, and talk politics so loudly at Tosca while Joe Manchin may be in the back room that they horrify Charles and Bill. (Buddy feels #blessed by Maddie’s proximity too.)
Groomsman
Nashville, TN. College friend of the groom. First introduced during Charles' second year of college, Alex and Charles spent their free time in college avidly supporting local musical artists.
Bridesmaid
Sam & Tess met at Vassar, but they still aren't sure whether it's a college or a concept. Their friendship grew even more after college when they both lived in DC and discovered they have even more in common than they realized, including a distaste for Victorian-era novels. Even though Sam is now in Brooklyn, you can find them together at a Dunks, on a boat, or watching Real Housewives – and discussing whether Vassar is a college or a concept.
Groomsman
Houston, TX. Childhood friend of the groom. Joe and Charles met in middle school and grew up together in the Lamar Park neighborhood. Despite a difference of opinion on the film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", they remain close.
Bridesmaid
Emmy & Tess met in college as "counselors" and immediately became attached at the hip. People remember them as the girls who were constantly walking laps around campus with their Crafted Kups and/or the girls holding stuffed animals and sobbing in the quad at 3pm. They are feeling much better now, but remain best friends.
Groomsman
Houston, TX. Childhood friend of the groom and high school tennis doubles partner. Sam and Charles had an unbelievably successful run as doubles partners during their junior and senior years with many wins and awards, but their high school career was cut short following a very controversial seeding decision in the state tournament.
Bridesmaid
Unfortunately, Erina & Tess became close during college because Tess slept on the floor of Erina's dorm room for 2 months. Luckily, they have gotten even closer since Tess started sleeping in a bed again, and thank God because who else would Tess order thousands of dollars worth of Chinese food and then do cardio with until the food was delivered?
Groomsman
New York, NY. College friend of the groom. Charles and Scott were neighbors in the Dillard dorm at UVA and bonded over a shared enthusiasm for Turtle Back Zoo.
Bridesmaid
Jackie & Tess met during a terrible, horrible, NYC fashion PR internship during college. They were sent on Day 1 to pass out brochures over 10 miles of Manhattan and have been "twins" ever since, although this wasn't always valued by the PR firm (especially when they showed up one morning 3 hours late with green hair after taking the train in from the New Jersey suburbs).
Groomsman
New York, NY. College friend of the groom. Mike and Charles were neighbors in the Dillard dorm and could be frequently found together enjoying a meal at The Virginian.
Bridesmaid
Kylie & Tess met during their internship at DOJ's Organized Crime & Gangs Section. At the office, when they weren't "working," Kylie taught Tess yoga, they deemed a "crying stairwell," solved mysteries with string and clip art, and filmed themselves performing the choreography from the “Friends" music video, which Francis & the Lights retweeted after Kylie tagged him (still working on Kanye).
Groomsman
New York, NY. College friend of the groom. Pat and Charles were neighbors in the Dillard dorm and spent many evenings grabbing a "plain" pizza from the world-famous Sbarro pizzeria company.
Bridesmaid
Joanna & Tess bonded during their 1L when they realized they were the only two members of UVA's Law & Public Service Program who were too awkward to network. They've been networking – and eating octopus, and running all over DC without committing federal crimes – together ever since, and always will be.
Groomsman
Dallas/Houston, TX. Law school friend of the groom. Nic and Charles lived together post-law school in the very hip Greenville neighborhood of Dallas.
Bridesmaid
Cam & Tess met in law school and became fast friends, probably over some hard French cheese and rosé. Outside of Charlottesville, they've eaten cheese and sipped wine together in Tulum, London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Seville, and Positano, boated in Capri, and almost died together in Morocco (with Joanna!).
Groomsman
Charlotte, NC. Law school friend of the groom. Jake and Charles lived together during law school at the luxurious Pavilion @ North Grounds where they commiserated over their shared love of bad-to-mediocre sports teams.
Bridesmaid
Kira & Tess were roommates all through law school. There’s no way Tess would have made it out alive through breakups and finals and eventually the Bar without their Runaway ballads, margarita dates, and a little bottle smashing on the side.
Groomsman
Boston, MA. Law school friend of the groom. Ethan and Charles were in the same small section in law school and bonded over many meals from Peter Chang (a Peter Chang restaurant).
