Goodbye Baker, Hello Petersen

We don't have a meet cute or any fancy story to tell. We met on a dating app! Our first date was at our favorite local taqueria - the same one that will be catering the big day.

April 10, 2021, after nearly 7 years together Matt took Tess to the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden on a random Saturday off. After not being able to get in to another garden due to COVID restrictions, we snatched up a last minute cancellation at the UCB Garden. After some exploring we found a bench under a tree dedicated to a Peterson couple and Matt decided it was time to ask the big question. Overcome with excitement Tess could only get out "Thank you!" a couple times, ended up putting the ring on the wrong finger, and spent the rest of the day in bliss - finally engaged.

Matt met Tesslyn's cousin, Stephanie, a little less than 24 hours after meeting Tess. Matt asked Tess to move in with him and said "I love you" for the first time on the same night, July 4th. Tess said I love you first. We enjoy listening to all kinds of music and watching sitcoms like The Office, Parks and Rec, and Community. We collect strange wall art, cool ashtrays/trinkets, and are huge softies for animals.
