You can fly directly to Friday Harbor! To do this, you need to fly to Seattle. After landing at Seattle, go to Boeing Field, the nearby private terminal, via an Uber/Lyft or Kenmore's shuttle (15 min). The flight from Boeing Field to Friday Harbor, San Juan Island is 35 minutes. The airlines that fly there are Kenmore Air, Point to Point, and San Juan Airlines for about $200 one-way. Kenmore and San Juan Airlines have about 4+ flights per day, and Point to Point schedules around you. In Friday Harbor, renting a car give you the fullest flexibility to explore the island. The two best options are M&W Auto (https://www.sanjuanauto.com/car-rental-friday-harbor-san-juan-island) and Susie's Mopeds (https://susiesmopeds.com/) which is a few-minute walk from the ferry landing. There are also taxis on the island (https://www.visitsanjuans.com/island-transportation).

Drive on or walk on to the ferry at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal (2100 Ferry Terminal Rd Anacortes, WA). The closest airports to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal are Bellingham (19 mi) and Seattle (75 mi). There are two shuttles that run between SeaTac and the Anacortes Ferry Terminal, the Bellair shuttle (https://airporter.com/shuttle/schedules/anacortes-san-juan-islands/) (2:30 hr, requires 1 transfer) and the Island Airporter shuttle (https://www.islandairporter.com/) (only runs M-F but has no stops or transfer and includes the ferry ride).

Ferry Information

Anacortes Ferry Terminal: 2100 Ferry Terminal Rd Anacortes, WA 98221 Be sure to check the ferry sailing schedule! The route is Anacortes/ San Juan Islands, and the ferry takes about 65 minutes. Ferry reservations are available and spots are released in three tiers: First Tier: Two months before the start of the sailing season (Fall sailing season starts 9/22), Second Tier: Two weeks prior to the specific sailing date. Third Tier: Two days prior to the specific sailing sate. In addition, we recommend getting to the ferry terminal about 1 hour before your sailing time. Waiting for the ferry is fun! There's a little beach and park to walk around and concession stand with coffee and other snacks.
