How We Met

Tess walked through the back door...

I was living in Austin, TX at the time and went to go visit my best friend from college, Bailey Kennedy for a weekend away. Before going out for the night, we stopped by the "neighbors" house across the pasture to say hello. We entered through the backdoor to the house where I immediately saw a cute boy sitting at the bar but didn't think much of it and just stood across the room silently. After about 10 minutes, that cute boy blurted out in the middle of the room, "well hell Bailey, who's this?!" He took his hat off, shook my hand (I was in complete shock), and said "I'm Brach, nice to meet you". Come to find out, Brach was Bailey's cute cousin I never even knew existed. Although that was the extent to our introduction, I couldn't wait to see Brach the next day & the rest was history!!

The Proposal

10.26.22

From "Would you like to be my girlfriend" to "Would you like to be a Farmer". The day of.... After weeks of what it seemed like undercover work, my plan was slowly coming to life. If you don't know Tess well, then know this (she isn't easy to surprise). The plan - first on the agenda we were "supposed" to be going to dinner with my parents at the farm because it was just a random Wednesday. Next, I had planned a phone call from my neighbor (Mary Hicks) to call and ask if I could come by to help with her horses. To make it sound real I had to act like I was annoyed so Tess would be on Mary's side and say, "babe it won't take that long". The Finale- as we were making our way through the ranch, I pulled up to the last gate and the sun was coming right into the window so Tess couldn't see what was ahead of her, little did she know I had set up for the proposal before from the help of my parents. Then she saw the sign "Would you like to be a Farmer?" and just melted and almost fell out of the truck. As she ran up to me, behind my back was a box from the back seat that I gave to her with a custom pair of Nike Air Max's with the letters TLF- Tess LeAnn Farmer. As she saw the letters on the back, that's when I got on my knee and asked her the words that brought us here today.

For all the days along the way
