How we met

Right swipe? I think so!

Portland, OR, 2016. For those that do not know, our Tessie is in fact a Tinderella. With a swift right swipe, on some seriously questionable photos, she thought he was kinda okay (can confirm that she "didn't even like him that much"). Blake knew instantly that she was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen, of course he was going to swipe right, its always a no until you ask right? First actual date? Well Blake is pretty clever, and took the Minnesota girl to a Portland Winterhawk's Hockey game. Fun was had, and the Winterhawk's won. At that time, Blake actually walked her to her car (after a drink the first time we met...he did not), but the fool did not kiss her.

She said YES!

Calm on the surface... Duck paddling inside

Stillwater, MN, 2019. In true to their form fashion, Tess and Blake went away to Stillwater to spend some time alone and take a needed break from their busy schedules. Little did Tess know that a plan had been in the works, and she would be asked a question that weekend. While lounging around town, and drinking champagne, they found themselves watching food network in bed ( because everyone knows that's the best way to relax). Blake could not wait any longer, and casually brought up that he had something important for her. She thought she knew what it might be, and played it very coy as he reached below the bed to secretly grab an item. He looked her in the eyes, and what did he produce... a new wallet! Man o Man had he been hounding her to replace her old wallet, so he had bought her a new one. Visibly surprised, she opened it, to find a few little gifts inside, including some handwritten notes. The notes hinted at a red envelope somewhere in the room. Her face turned a light shade of red, when she said " where is the red envelope?". It was already in Blake's hand. He handed it to her, and she delicately opened it, as it felt like there might be a small, round, metallic object inside. Tess read the note, and much to her surprise, it was actually quite sweet and heartfelt, but also joke laden and somewhat sarcastic at points (keeping true to their relationship). The note instructed her to open the package, which she did, and... It was a key ring, with a fashioned fake diamond on it, another Hoax. Alas Blake couldn't wait any longer and asked her the most important question he had ever asked, while producing the ACTUAL ring. She said yes! Much to her surprise, the festivities and surprises were not over yet. Her parents and sister were waiting three blocks away, at the restaurant where they had reservations. If you could have seen her face when she saw her family waiting, you would know just how truly important family is to her. Blake and Phil had set it up perfectly
