Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask that you dress up with us for our wedding weekend! Friday Welcome Cocktails: Dressy Casual. Men can plan to wear a collared shirt and pants, no jeans please. Women are encouraged to wear a dress, skirt, or dressy pants. Saturday Wedding Ceremony & Reception: Cocktail Attire. Men can plan to wear a suit or jacket & tie. Women can plan to wear tea-length, midi, or full length dresses. We love fun summer colors! But all colors/patterns are welcome.

Is the wedding outdoors?

Answer

Yes! Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors on the terrace. Don’t forget sunglasses! 😎 The reception will be held indoors.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30pm. We encourage guests to arrive 30 minutes early so we can begin on time. There will be concerts at both Soldier Field and Northerly Island that evening, so traffic will be busier than usual. Please plan accordingly!

Will there be transportation?

Answer

We have arranged shuttles to pick up guests from the Intercontinental hotel at 5:30pm and take them to the ceremony. The Courtyard and the Embassy are a short walk to the Intercontinental. We will have multiple shuttles to drop guests back at all 3 hotels throughout the evening, starting around 10:45pm (subject to change), with departures every 30-45 minutes after that (depending on traffic). Due to concerts at Soldier Field and Northerly Island, we strongly recommend utilizing the shuttles, as it will be difficult to call an uber at certain points in the evening (see below)

Can I Uber/Lyft?

Answer

Ubers will be able to drop off guests at the venue before the ceremony. Please let us know if you plan to Uber/Lyft, as you will need to show a pass in order to be dropped off at Adler. Due to concerts at nearby Soldier Field and Northerly Island, Ubers will not be able to reach the venue to pick up guests from approximately 10:30 pm - 12 am, as the lanes will be outbound only while the concerts let out. Exact timing is TBD. If you plan to drive, cars can leave the museum campus area at any time, but parking is limited. We have arranged shuttles to transport guests from the venue to the hotels (shuttles will have passes to come and go) throughout the night. Guests can call an Uber from the hotel, where traffic will be better. The first shuttle of the night will depart around 10:45pm, with departures every 30-45 minutes after that (depending on traffic). On a positive note, we strongly encourage guests to stay late, as we have a special afterparty at the Adler from 12 to 1 am in the Grainger Sky Theater! By that time, all concert traffic will have cleared out, and ubering should be no problem. We will also have a final shuttle at the end of the night.

Where can I park?

The Intercontinental Hotel offers valet parking. There are also nearby parking garages. Please visit the "Travel" tab for more information. We also recommend apps like SpotHero for parking near the hotels. For parking at the venue, please visit here to book a parking spot in advance: https://www.soldierfieldparking.com/upcoming-events under Ed Sheeran on June 27, please select "Soldier Field Planetarium Lot" for spots closest to the venue. Spots are limited, so we recommend booking as soon as possible.

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate the guests who will be formally listed on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP.
