Joshua Tree National Park is the closest National Park at about a 45 minute drive from La Quinta. It is worth seeing as these unique trees may not be around forever. There are some great hikes there. We'd recommend Ryan Mountain for an uphill challenge but a beautiful 360-degree view at the top.
A free and fun little stop on the side of the highway. About 25 minutes from Palm Springs and an hour from La Quinta.
A nice zoo with variety of animals. High point: you can feed the giraffes! It is a great photo opportunity and overall fun experience!
Murray Canyon to Seven Sister's Falls-- Tessa's favorite hike in the area. You hike along a river & sometimes may even need to walk through the water- so it is best to wear older shoes just in case!
Nearby La Quinta- The Shields Date Garden in Indio offers a taste of the Coachella Valley's history with its fresh dates and famous date shakes. It's a charming stop where you can explore the garden, learn about date farming, and pick up unique local products.
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway offers breathtaking views as you ascend from the desert floor to the San Jacinto Mountains. It’s the perfect way to experience stunning scenery, hiking trails, and cooler mountain temperatures all in one trip.
