Santa Barbara has lifted its mask mandate. With a headcount of 70 people, we will be proceeding as normal.
You can fly into the Santa Barbara airport, located 10 minutes from our wedding venue. You can also fly into LAX and drive 2 hours up the coast. We suggest using this option if you plan on traveling outside of Santa Barbara before or after our wedding. The drive is beautiful if you take the Pacific Coast Highway, with many beach towns along the way. Downtown Santa Barbara is very walkable, and Uber is readily available, so a rental car is not necessary. The walk from the ceremony chapel to the reception venue is .7 miles (about 12 minutes). We will be walking as a group, but feel free to Uber if you aren't up for it!
We expect July in Santa Barbara to be sunny and mid 70s during the day, mid 60s at night. Please remember that there is rarely any humidity and that Santa Barbara is a coastal town- we suggest bringing a jacket out at night.
Santa Barbara has many hotels, bed and breakfasts, airBNBs, etc. We suggest staying in the Funk Zone area, which is full of tasting rooms, restaurants, bars, shops etc. Please visit our "Things To Do" page for recommendations. Some recommended hotels: The Franciscan Inn Bath Street Inn Hotel Milo Hotel Californian Hotel Indigo The Canary The Goodland
California chic! We've been cooped up for a long time - feel free to BRING IT baby! (summer suits and summer dresses work just fine).
TBD if these newborn parents will be able to kick it like they used to post reception... On Friday July 23rd, the Rubins will be hosting a brunch hang out (think booze and bagels) at their airBNB in Carpinteria (15 minute drive from downtown Santa Barbara). We will hang here for a bit and then head to the Funk Zone area to hop around different tasting rooms/bars for the rest of the night. See "Schedule" page for more info. We completely understand if you have made other plans for the rest of the weekend or need to travel home on Friday.
