The Portland Malt Shoppe is a small storefront selling amazing malts, milkshakes, and ice cream cones—expect 20-30 minute lines! Located next to a staircase leading down to the Lakewalk, the malt shop is a great place to grab ice cream and then take a walk along the lake. One of Kendall’s favorites!!
Canal Park
Sitting on the shore of Lake Superior, Canal Park is a hotspot hub for dining, entertainment, lodging, and attractions. Explore the lakewalk or catch a 1,000-foot ship passing under the famous Aerial Lift Bridge. Visit their website to find the ship schedule!

Park Point
The perfect place to relax on the beach or take a hike—you choose! Formed by the Nemadji and St. Louis Rivers, this 7-mile natural sand spit is the longest freshwater sandbar in the world! Park Point Trail includes a 4.5 mile round trip along the shore through white and red pine trees. During the hike, you’ll discover remnants of early settler’s cabins, abandoned US Army Corps of Engineer’s structures, and Lake Superior’s first lighthouse.
