The Celtic tradition to “Tie the Knot” or “hand fasting” is a ceremony where the hands are tied together as one to symbolize the binding of two lives and their families.
Our celebration may not be “traditional” but Tying the Knot is an important event to us. We request the attire is a step above Hoodies and Carharts but not so uncomfortable as formal attire.
We have chosen to honor our relationship and blaze a path of unity by choosing traditions we feel best suit us. We will have our “handfasting” and move into dinner along with a bonfire. We will pass on first dances, cutting the cake, etc.
PLEASE BRING YOUR BABIES! Not only are they adorable, but this is a family event and we want all of you to feel welcome… additionally we have parents that are dying to be grandparents and would love to cuddle your little ones.
Around 65°F during the day and it will drop to 45°F (ish) at night. We will have a bonfire and blankets will be provided.
There will be music and you’re welcome to dance. However we will not be participating in the “first dance”.
