Blake and I met in business calculus class at Texas State. We were both in need of some better grades to finish out the semester and would study with each other. It started with Blake bringing in a thermos of coffee and a side of creamer for me. Then coffee outside of class, which turned into lunches at Torchy’s, which turned into movie nights at his place. It was later that he asked me out on a date that just so happened to be on Valentines Day. That became our anniversary day.
We went to the Mary Moore park to walk our dog, Bean. We always would walk Bean there and talk about our futures, where we want to go, and how we wanted to get where we’re going in life. On the second lap around I told Tessa that we’re missing a step in our plans. I proposed, both of us in our sweaty athletic wear. I knew she wouldn’t see it coming. That ring was hidden in my pocket for over 2 weeks before I found that opportunity to ask for her hand in marriage.
