Mill River Union High School is where we first met. We became close friends right away. Tess had just moved to Wallingford, down the street from where Steve grew up. We spent a lot of time together in our tight-knit friend group. Tess went to college in Burlington, VT and would hang out with Steve when visiting Wallingford. We never lost touch. Steve moved to Florida for a few years. In 2017, Tess drove all the way down to Florida to visit Steve and we have been inseparable ever since.
Steve and I were on one of our annual trips to Florida to visit his family and take a little vacation, when he asked me if I wanted to watch the sun set on top of a huge tree-house like structure in Dade City. We had gone there in previous years for short walks and to enjoy the view. We brought a few beers and snacks to enjoy while watching the sunset. It was absolutely beautiful. I turned around to see what Steve does and he was down on one knee. Such a serene, beautiful moment!
We decided to do an intimate ceremony as soon as we could! We had to postpone out original elopement plans due to COVID-19, but rescheduled for September 2020. The simplicity and intimacy of an elopement was exactly what we envisioned for our big day and it did not disappoint! We were lucky enough to have Tess's mother and father and Steve's father and step-mother with us. The sun was shining and it was more than we could have imagined. Best day of our lives! We can’t wait to celebrate with all our family and friends!
After living in a few apartments in South Burlington and Waterbury, VT, we were ready for a place to call our own. We recently purchased our first house together in Saint Albans, VT and moved in shortly after getting married. We are thrilled to be homeowners and we love our cute home! We have three of the sweetest animals ever, Stella our dog and Abby and James, our kitties. We are very fortunate.
