A truly modern love story, Ian and Tess met on Tinder in early November of 2019. After sweet compliments of Tess’s earrings Ian asked Tess out on a first date to an internationally acclaimed restaurant that specialized in breakfast, IHOP. After their pancake dinner, Ian suggested that they extend the date over a game of bowling. Tess was excited to continue until they got to the alley and Ian pulled a professional bowling case out of his trunk… Tess knew she was gonna lose big time (and she did) but she ended up winning in the end. After three more dates and nonstop communication (ahhh young love), the pair were official and in love.

Ian and Tess have a shared love of some pretty incredible movie soundtracks, particularly - anything by Hans Zimmer. Last October, Tess and Ian attended a Hans Zimmer concert in LA and were making their way home to Long Beach. Ian had planned to propose that night but wasn’t sure when or how. He’d always imagined proposing near the ocean in Long Beach, but since they rarely went there, Tess would’ve guessed something was up and he really wanted it to be a surprise. She’d already been pretty nosy about when it was going to happen. On the drive down, Ian mentioned how foggy it had been that morning and suggested they check out the coast. Tess agreed, and while driving down Ocean Boulevard, Ian discreetly opened the ring box and slipped the ring into his sock. When they stopped and walked out onto the bluffs overlooking the water, the moment felt right. After chatting for a bit, Ian got down on one knee and asked Tess to marry him.
