Our Happily Ever After

Barrett and I met my Freshmen year of high school. He was a sophomore. I became best friends with a girl named Antigone in Dance Company and went to sit with her and her fiends at lunch for the first time random day. Once sitting down at the table, I realized we had a lot of mutual friends. Across from me at the table was Barrett. We also had mutual friends, but we surprising had never met. He introduced himself and gave me a hug that day. The next day Antigone played matchmaker and organized a day that we could all hang out. A few days later we all went to the Brea Mall. We were both so nervous around each other, but we both tried our best to play it cool. When the three of us sat down at Starbucks, it was there he held my hand under the table. I hinted to Antigone to leave and give us some alone time, so she went off for a bit on her own. After talking alone, we instantly had a connection. We have never felt so comfortable with someone so easily and fast. We sat on the couch in Macy’s and told each other all of our favorite things. Going down the Macy’s escalator he went in front of me so we were the same height. We fight about this next part all the time, but no matter who leaned in first, we had our first kiss on the escalator. The world melted around us and it felt like we had known each other for a lifetime. We were both going through very rough times and that moment was exactly what we needed. Since that moment we have never left each others side. There are many ups and downs when you are growing up together and becoming adults, but our love only grew. We not only have had a strong relationship, but we created a strong friendship as well. I am so excited to not only spend my life with my husband, but my best friend.
