I met Logan while I was out with coworkers after work. I don’t usually go out after working but my coworkers convinced me to just go for one. I ran into Logan’s sister, Morgan, who I had worked with at Pier 500 and we started chatting. She mentioned she was there with her fiancé (now husband) and her brother Logan. It wasn’t long before Logan pulled me out on the dance floor and we danced the night away, taking breaks to get some fresh air and chatting the whole time. At the end of the night, he asked me to go on date. We exchanged numbers and parted ways. The next morning I had made plans with my sister, Lauren, to ride our horses and grab breakfast. I told her I met a guy the night before and he wanted to take me on a date. Her exact words were “Well, let’s throw him to the wolves- invite him over and he can come hang out while we ride.” We did exactly that and had the time of our lives. He left to go back to Maryland the next morning and I didn't see him again until later that May. He asked me to officially be his girlfriend on May 22, 2022.
After asking Rachel's parents, sister and grandma (Jojo) for their permission, I worked with Lauren to figure out the perfect time to pop the question. I booked a photoshoot with one of my buddies from the Marine Corps and Lauren had Rachel convinced that it was just a random photoshoot with the horses that she had planned to get done while they were down in Arizona. That Saturday was the big day and I was nervous but excited at the same time. Lauren hid the ring in her jacket pocket until it was our turn to take photos. While we were walking to our next spot, Lauren handed me the ring and leather piece I made. I attached the leather piece to Rachel's horse, Becky, and got ready for Rachel to notice. As soon as she saw it, I got down on one knee. She said yes!
